happy new year, hexbreakers! i hope you’re easing into 2026.
at the beginning of every year, i pick a word that will guide how i move over the next 12 months. this year, it’s EXPERIMENTATION: the action or process of trying out new ideas, methods, or activities.
For a long time, I let perfectionism and a fear of failure hold me back from bringing my (many, many) ideas to life. Launching my own consultancy last year showed me how much I can trust myself and how capable I am. So this year is about doubling down on that by tending the creative sparks that light up my spirit.
there’s so many ways to talk about and do the work of hexbreaking, and i’ll be experimenting with different formats this year. this video is a reflection of that.
i spend a lot of time processing, but synthesizing the swirl of thoughts in my head into coherent writing takes time. talking it out allows me to do a brain dump that i can make sense of and build off later. it also allows me to get comfortable being unrefined and unfinished. everything is so neatly curated these days, but there’s nothing neat about unlearning and evolving. it’s messy and i’ll stumble and i’ll be incoherent at times. but guess what? i’ll survive and i’ll learn and i’ll be accountable and i’ll be better for it.
cicely taught me that change is just practice. if you want to think or act or be different in some way, you have to repeatedly do the things that move you from where you are to where you want to be. that’s all that Breaking The Hex is — movement. little shifts that will eventually accumulate into visible, tangible, material transformation.
thanks for moving with me.
